Highly Pure and DNA-free Total RNA

RNA quality and purity are paramount for successful Northern, RT-PCR, microarray target labeling or QRT-PCR experiments. Traces of phenol, DNA contamination, and RNA degradation can contribute to poor labeling and signal quality in microarray experiments as well as inhibit RT-PCR or QRT-PCR amplification. Using intact, DNA- free, pure total RNA improves detection and discrimination of low expression level genes in virtually every application. For example, our StratageneŽ Universal Human Reference RNA (UHRR) is prepared using the Absolutely RNAŽ Kit method modified for large scale isolation and has undergone extensive quality control procedures to ensure batch-to-batch consistency


Fast, Easy, Non-Toxic Method

Our Absolutely RNA kits use a safe, rapid, phenol-free method that works with tissue or cultured cells. The method for all kits is simple. Isolation of total RNA is performed in a single spin-cup to minimize potential loss of RNA during the procedure. Following lysis, the solution is mixed with ethanol and applied to the silica-based fiber matrix within the spin-cup to bind the RNA. DNA contamination is effectively removed by incubation with DNase I. The RNA is then washed to remove contaminants and total RNA is recovered in the appropriate final elution buffer


Purify RNA from Laser Microdissected Cells

Laser microdissection (LMD) is a technique used to isolate a pure subpopulation of cells from tissue sections containing a heterogeneous mixture for detailed molecular analysis. Isolating high quality total RNA from LMD-recovered cells can be challenging and inefficient when standard methods are used. In contrast, our Absolutely RNAŽ Microprep Kit and Absolutely RNAŽ Nanoprep Kit easily isolate pure RNA from small samples without the need for additional reagents or precipitation. Using our specially designed spin cups for 10ul elution volume, the Absolutely RNAŽ Nanoprep Kit is the only kit qualified to isolate RNA from a single cell.

Our Absolutely RNAŽ FFPE Kit offers reliable RNA purification from paraffin-embedded samples, with an easy-to-use, optimized, and non-toxic method. Additionally, we have optimized our kit method to remove the chemical modifications to the RNA molecules so that the high yields of unmodified RNA are obtained. Because there is a high degree of variability in working with FFPE tissues, we also include our StratageneŽ QPCR Human Universal Reference RNA standard to control for this variability so you can produce meaningful quantitative reverse-transcriptase PCR (QRT-PCR) data. We include all of the necessary reagents from de-paraffinization to elution of pure RNA so there are no extra purchases required.
